Hampton Court's rink sits on the west front of the palace, the Tudor side, with the gatehouse Henry VIII walked through as its backdrop. Historic Royal Palaces has set this year's dates and put tickets on sale.
Dates and hours
Friday 20 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, excluding Christmas Day. The first session is at 10am and the last at 8pm.
Tickets
The rink is a separate ticket: palace admission is not included and the rink is not included in palace admission. Members save 10% or more with codes from their e-newsletters.
Quieter sessions
A reduced-capacity session runs at 10am every day with static lighting and softer music — the palace suggests it for guests with disabilities and for parents with young children.
The same weekends
The Festive Fayre, with more than 100 artisan producers in the Great Fountain Garden, runs on 4–6 and 11–13 December, and the Winter Palace experience inside the state rooms from 28 November. Both are included in palace admission.
Hampton Court is the rink to combine with something else, because the journey is the long one: thirty-five minutes from Waterloo, and the station is right across the bridge from the gate. A December weekend with the Festive Fayre gives you a market, the maze and the gardens on the palace ticket and the ice on a second — go for the Fayre in daylight and skate when the palace front is lit. The 10am quiet session is also simply the emptiest ice of the day.
