Coqfighter opens at Market Halls Canary Wharf on 21 October

There is a particular sort of Londoner who will cross town for a properly made chicken wing, and it gives one real pleasure to report that, from 21 October, those who work at Canary Wharf need cross nothing more taxing than the lobby.
Where and when
Market Halls, 25 North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, E14 5HD, opening on Wednesday 21 October 2026. It is the fifth London Coqfighter, after Liverpool Street, Soho, King's Cross and Finsbury Park.
What one orders
The K-wings (£10) are twice fried and finished in a spicy Korean glaze, and they are the house's calling card. The Nashville Hot sandwich (£11.50) is a fried breast with pickles, chipotle mayonnaise and a green slaw. There is a vegan sandwich for those so inclined, roast and grilled chicken for those who prefer their bird unfried, and sides that include mashed potato with miso gravy and coconut rice.
A little history
Coqfighter is an Australian-born concept, established in 2014 by Tristan Clough, Deacon Rose and Troy Sawyer. Mr Sawyer calls the new site a massive milestone for the team, and very graciously gives the credit for it to the customers.
A food hall inside an office estate keeps office hours whether it means to or not: the half hour after noon is a queue, and the hour after two is a table by the window. Canary Wharf is served by the Jubilee line, the Elizabeth line and the DLR, which makes it rather easier to reach of an evening than its reputation suggests. And a word on the wings: a glaze that is meant to be eaten hot loses a good deal in a desk drawer, so they are best had there and then.
