Battersea Park has two fireworks nights, and they are two different shows with different soundtracks. Saturday is the late one, with a drum and bass DJ before the display and a dance party after it. Sunday starts earlier and is over by 9.30pm. Both are produced by Enable, a not-for-profit, on behalf of Wandsworth Council.
Saturday 7 November
Gates open at 6pm, and the first hour is a happy hour with half-price fairground rides and £5 drinks. Rudimental play a DJ set at 7.30pm, and Conjunto Sabroso bring salsa before the display too. The gates close at 8pm, the fireworks start at about 8.30pm, and a Disco Ceilidh takes over afterwards until the event closes at 11pm.
Sunday 8 November
Gates open at 4.30pm. The Lords of Lightning, who fire high-voltage electricity from their own bodies, are on at 5.45pm, and a Taylor Swift tribute act, Fearlessly Taylor, is also on the bill. Last entry is at 6.30pm, the fireworks start at about 7pm, and a pop afterparty with DJ Josh Lovatt in the big top runs until 9.30pm.
Tickets
Tickets are sold in advance only, through Kaboodle; there are none on the gate. On 13 October an adult ticket (16+) cost £18 for Saturday and £16.70 for Sunday, and a youth ticket (5–15) £11.50 for either night, booking fee included, plus a £1 transaction fee per booking. Under-5s go free but still need a ticket. The price goes up as each release sells out, and tickets cannot be refunded.
Rules at the gate
Under-18s must be with an adult aged 18 or over, and one adult can bring at most four. Bags are checked and there is no re-admission. Sparklers, dogs other than registered assistance dogs, your own food, glass and alcohol are not allowed. The bars and food stalls take cards only.
Getting there
Battersea Park and Queenstown Road stations are the closest, and Battersea Power Station on the Northern line is a short walk. The park's car parks close in the afternoon and there is no parking on the night except a few disabled spaces. Bikes can be left at Albert Gate, which the organisers also suggest over Sun Gate if you are walking from Clapham Junction, as it should be quieter.
The same weekend elsewhere
On the Saturday, Blackheath and Alexandra Palace have their displays too, and Merton has its second night at Morden Park. On Bonfire Night itself, Thursday 5 November, Coram's Fields in Bloomsbury puts on a free display for children and the adults with them.

- Sun 7pm
- Fireworks, after last entry at 6.30pm. Afterparty until 9.30pm.
Pick the night by its last entry rather than its display time. The gates shut half an hour before the fireworks — 8pm on Saturday, 6.30pm on Sunday — and nobody gets in after that, so the queue at the gate decides your evening more than the weather does. Sunday is the easier night with children: it starts earlier, ends at 9.30pm, and the Lords of Lightning are on while small children are still awake. Saturday is the night if you want music on both sides of the display.
