For years this was the great free spectacle of south-east London: you wandered up onto the heath and the sky did the rest. It is ticketed now, which is a change worth knowing about before you wander anywhere.

Blackheath Fireworks 2026 dates and times

Saturday 7 November 2026, from 5pm to 10pm, on Blackheath Common, run by Slammin Events in partnership with Lewisham Council. Capacity is 40,000.

Blackheath Fireworks ticket prices

Adult (16+) £17.60. Youth (11–15) £11. Child (0–10) £5.50. Family tickets for one or two adults with two children are sold as well. Tickets are on general sale on the organiser's own site and through See Tickets.

What is on besides the fireworks

In the Big Top, the UK garage pair DJ Luck & MC Neat head the music, with the house DJ Brandon Block. Massaoke, the live-band sing-along, is back, as are the Lords of Lightning, and the Big Belly Comedy Club puts on a fireworks showcase. South London Samba drum through the evening, and the funfair has been extended this year; its rides are paid for on top of admission.

The other hill that night

North London has its own display on the very same Saturday: Alexandra Palace sends up fireworks and drones at 8pm, and does it all again for families at 6pm on the Sunday.

South-west London has two that weekend: Battersea Park on the Saturday and the Sunday, with Rudimental before the Saturday display, and Merton's second night at Morden Park. And on Bonfire Night proper, the Thursday before, Coram's Fields in Bloomsbury holds a free display for children and the grown-ups with them.

One kindly word of warning and one of encouragement. The warning: forty thousand tickets sounds like a great many until you remember that the heath is enormous and quite dark, and the walk back down towards the station afterwards is where an evening is either pleasant or ruined — Blackheath and Greenwich stations both queue, and the buses along the A2 do rather better than either. The encouragement: a display of this size, seen from open common land rather than between buildings, is genuinely a different thing from a municipal fifteen minutes in a park, and it is the one November evening in this corner of London that is worth the cold.
